Welcome readers and fellow anglers.

A life long angler, I have fished many of the beautiful lakes and streams that make Minnesota the Land of 10,000 Lakes and have compiled a list of lakes that I fished to keep track of my goal to fish all 10,000 (See list of Lakes fished).  However, my joy for fishing is thus that I have also fished most everywhere I’ve traveled including: Grand Cayman Island; Kauai, HI, the Outer Banks, NC; Tybee Island, GA; Roaring Creek and the Thompson River in Boulder, CO;  the Pacific Ocean out of Acapulco, Mexico; and the Driftless trout streams in both Iowa and Wisconsin.

My modified version of the Herodotus inspired inscription on the James Farley Post Office in New York City, sums up my passion for fishing:  Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays this fisherman from fishing.

I’m not a professional fisherman, nor do I intend to be.  From spending time outdoors in nature with my family, fishing in the rain, catching a whopper, learning a new technique and the occasional fish fry, I simply love fishing and all that it entails.  While I would love to have a sparkly bass boat with a 250 HP motor, I make do with what I have: a pair of waders, my trusty Ford F-150 pickup, an 8′ Pelican Bass Raider outfitted with a Minn-Kota trolling motor, friends with boats, a bunch of rods, and over flowing tackle and fly boxes.

40 something, I reside in Bloomington, MN with my wife, two daughters, son and dog.  When not fishing I’m busy coaching youth soccer, hockey, golf, or softball.  While I love to cook, garden, run, and read, those pursuits all take a backseat to fishing.
