Sunrise and sunset – spectacular this week.  Although, probably not for those living through the forest fires that are resulting in the hazy skies.

Nice to have my dad in the boat.  He joined us for a few days.  Went to an underwater sand point before supper.  Wind blowing across the point.  Perfect conditions to pitch a tube jig up on to the point and then off the ledge into a steep drop off.  This resulted in 3 plucky bass for my dad right of the bat.  The fish were right where we expected them to be so it was nice to be rewarded for the knowledge.  Nice when it all comes together.

Went out again after supper but the slow evening bite persisted.  A few bass here and there although my daughter caught a hefty 15″ largemouth on black spinnerbait just as the day turned to black.
