Spring Lake

Returned to Spring Lake for the first time in a long time.

The problem(s) with Spring Lake have always been the shallow access and the green water.  Well, the access is no longer a problem.  The equipment was still present, but the access has been dredged and launching or removing your boat is no longer the challenge it used to be.  As for the water quality, still green, but clearer due to it being early in the year. I can imagine it will look like pea soup in a few more weeks.

The bass fishing was good with plenty of active participants. White twister, a pre-rigged worm, and a rattle trap proved to be the tickets.  Biggest fist was 16″.  Surface water temp in the low 70s. Crappies were in shallow, thousands of them spawning.  All pretty small though.
