New, used motor

June 9, 2018

May 6, 2018

Snow and unusually cold weather delayed an early start to the fishing season.

Had about two hours of spare time today and decided I needed to get the boat in the water to test out my new, used, motor before the fishing opener.  The staff at Dan’s Southside Marine did a great job getting it installed last fall.   The 90 HP Evinrude started right away and jumped out of the hole like a shot.  Awesome to be ripping across the water on a warm spring day and great to have confidence in your motor!

Of course I had to get in a few casts.  The water on Bryant Lake was surprisingly warm, 59 degrees where I was catching most of my fish, a mix of sunfish, 4 or 5 crappies, the biggest of which was 13″, lots of spunky little bass, and one turtle.
