The slash, the splash and the flash.

September 13, 2016

September 9, 2016

It was a little stormy overnight but only overcast with a few sprinkles thrown in at 5:30 a.m.  I figured the frogs might be on the move and threw the waders in the van and headed to Bush Lake for forty-five minutes of fishing.

I really thought they’d be going on the top but the buzz bait failed. Switched to a black willow leaf spinner bait and buzzed it underneath the surface and around the weeds.

There is nothing like seeing a fish slash the bait, it’s back coming out of the water and just pummeling the lure.  Then the splash, as it goes airborne once the line comes tight and the hook is set.  And then, the flash of the camera.  Well, if you can get the flash to work in the rain, with wet appendages that are trying to manage camera, rod, and fish.

Would’ve loved to stay and catch more but work was calling.
