Doughnut Run

June 19, 2013
tags:

While out for a little morning exercise on Friday, June 7, 2013, I got the feeling that the cool, damp, and unusually calm day would be a perfect day to be on the water.  The conditions seemed too good to not give it a shot.

Returning home, I loaded up the waders and hit the road for Bush Lake with my son who had just crawled out of bed but decided to tag along for a few casts having been promised a doughnut.  I thought for sure that we’d bust a bass or two but alas it was too good to be true.  Other than some tasty doughnuts all we had to show for our 15 minutes was one small northern.  The water remains exceptionally cold for this time of year and the fish still seem sluggish.  I’m sure I need to slow down my presentations and go smaller.
